Studying world history is essential to understanding regional, national, and local histories. I’m involved in several projects to support and sustain world history education. A world historical approach recognizes that in our interconnected world, understanding the historical roots of global relationships is essential for informed critical thinking.
Panorama: A World History
My co-authored textbook with Ross E. Dunn is coming out with Bloomsbury Press in 2026! Panorama presents a world-scale narrative with a single chronological thread. It empowers students to connect the regional histories of particular states, empires, and cultural traditions to larger patterns of change on hemispheric and global scales—examining migratory movements, networks of trade, the spread of religions, pandemics, and environmental transformations.
